Collaborative Approach

PAS has a well established project methodology that enables our clients to leverage maximum value from the software and experience we have at our disposal. We can provide consultancy to help shape requirements and bring in other specialist parties to create solutions that help our clients promote their offerings and differentiate from their competitors.

Our project approach is broken into four key phases.

Scoping Phase

The scoping phase is designed to deliver a clear project scope and priorities encompassing the following key disciplines:

  • Product Technical / Actuarial
  • IT Technical
  • Integration
  • Project Governance

This is designed to be collaborative and enable all parties to gain clarity and certainty in terms of the proposition and delivery.

Design Phase

This phase involves producing designs and technical specifications that outline how the software will be adapted to meet our client's requirements. The key aims of this phase are to enable all parties to comment on and sign- off on the design to enable the build phase to commence.

Build Phase

The build phase involves the coding work required to adapt the software to meet the client's requirements specifically, but not limited to, the following:

  • Changes to the core calculation engine
  • Changes to the user interface
  • Integration with the other systems involved
  • Customisation of the printed output

During the build phase, once logical working blocks of code are ready, these can be compiled where necessary and transferred on a weekly basis to our external facing server so that the client can provide comments and monitor progress.

Test Phase

During the systems test phase, test case scripts are created to test all areas of the system functionality. This allows us to verify that the end solution meets PAS’s quality standards. Testing would be designed to cover:

  • Actuarial Testing
  • Functional Testing
  • Integration Testing
  • Performance Testing

Clients carry out their own user acceptance testing and PAS enables this via our external facing servers. In this phase of testing we also deliver the application code to the client so that testing can be carried out within the client's own application environment.

PAS maintain regression batches and have an established mechanism and test harness for use in testing which can be provided to clients to assist with their own testing.
